We are looking for "A Few Committed Members"
The W2D Board is made up of dedicated volunteers working together to bring you our monthly programs. Several of our committees welcome off-board associates and we are always looking for “a few committed members” to join us.

Volunteering is rewarding, the time commitment is flexible and you’ll be collaborating with a great group of progressive women.

PROGRAM COMMITTEE | Chair, Nancy Murray
  • Researches, recommends and schedules monthly speakers
  • Writes and submits press releases
  • Provides the following information to Marketing on upcoming programs:
  • Speaker bios
  • Program topic & description
  • Images or other graphics provided by the speakers
  • Maintains past program archive
  • Ensures that Thank You notes are sent to the speakers
  • Provides editorial commentaries at programs and for the website
ADVOCACY COMMITTEE | Chair, Vickie Chamberlain
  • Collaborates with President and other board members hosting PAC fundraisers
  • Proposes “Advocacy in Action” projects at programs
  • Researches and contacts candidates and/or organizations in charge of ballot measures for possible endorsement
  • Recommends disbursements of the W2D PAC funds to the board
  • Schedules interviews with candidates
  • Provides Marketing with information for website and posts to W2D Facebook page
MARKETING/MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Chair: Andi Miller
  • Develops and implements ways to increase membership and program attendance
  • Manages membership relations through personal notes & surveys
  • Prepares and sends regular email communications
  • Manages and maintains website and social media content
  • Posts monthly program information on event websites
  • Provides graphic design services
  • Provides copywriting & editing services
  • Obtains quotes and coordinates with printers and other sub contractors
  • Prepares and assembles new board member orientation packets
  • At monthly programs:
  • Staffs membership table
  • Greets guests and provides traffic control
  • Provides literature and posts signage.
BOARD DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE | 
  • Conducts year-round search to recruit new board members
  • Explains the expectations and responsibilities of board membership
  • (formal vetting and interviews will be conducted by the Nominating Committee)
  • Refers potential board members to the Nominating Committee for review.
  • Introduces potential recruits to current board members at programs or other events.
