About W2D
In 1998, a small group of staunch Democrats plus one misguided, but like-minded Republican met in Lake Oswego and decided that they couldn’t be the only Democrats south of Portland and west of the Willamette River. They put their heads and ideals together and decided to form a group to advocate social and fiscal responsibility and offer a forum for politically involved women—and men.
In 2006, our membership and friends asked us to expand W2D's political activism and influence to include the collective use of its financial resources in the Oregon election process. As a result, we formed a political action committee, Willamette Women Democrats PAC. We officially incorporated in 2011. As W2D grows, we remain vigilant in our efforts to increase membership, provide informative programs, promote progressive policies and encourage women to be politically active. |
