Welcome to W2D
Where the biggest names discuss the biggest issues facing Oregon, the region and the nation.
W2D (Willamette Women Democrats) is a non-profit, civic organization that presents monthly programs featuring the most dynamic and influential political figures in the state as well as speakers representing organizations that reflect our progressive values. Below, is a small sampling of past speakers.
Despite our name, our supporting members come from the entire Portland Metro area and include women and men. Everyone, regardless of political affiliation is welcome to attend our timely and insightful programs.
OUR MISSION: To provide programs that inform; to encourage women to be politically active; to endorse and support the candidates and issues which best reflect the principles of the Democratic Party.
In addition to our programs, W2D has a PAC (political action committee) in support of or in opposition to state (Oregon), county and local candidates and ballot measures consistent with the mission of W2D.
OUR NEXT PROGRAM IS JUNE 8
With to the cancellation of our January program due to inclement weather, we are adding a program in June: "JUVENILE JUSTICE IN OREGON: Turning Lives Around,"
featuring a panel of speakers including Judge Deanne Darling of Lake Oswego, Christina McMahan, Director of the Clackamas Juvenile Department, Fariborz Pakseresht, Director of the Oregon Youth Authority, and Sang Dao, an impressive young man who came through the system.
