Programs & Events
Our monthly programs feature the most influential political figures in the state as well as speakers representing organizations that reflect our progressive values.
Our new season began in September, and so does a new membership year. Please renew your annual membership in W2D, or, if you are new to our organization, please join us!
As an all volunteer non-profit, we do our best to keep pricing low. For members, the $15 admission doesn't cover our costs, but your supporting membership subsidizes our operating expenses so that we can keep going.
Join our mailing list for up-to-date information on upcoming programs and events! You can opt out at any time.
"The Perilous Path for Oregon's Election Integrity"
with Former Secretary of State, Jeanne Atkins.
Jeanne Atkins will speak about her time as Secretary of State and some of the challenges that face Oregonians with the upcoming redistricting in 2020.
March is Women’s History Month and Jeanne Atkins made history by successfully implementing the Oregon Motor Voter law which automatically registers eligible residents to vote, a first in the nation. Atkins was the first woman in Oregon’s history to be appointed Secretary of State by her predecessor, Governor Kate Brown who had been elevated to Governor after former Governor Kitzhaber stepped down. Jeanne Atkins was the fourth female Secretary of State and the tenth Secretary of State who was appointed to this role. When appointed, she announced that she would not seek to be elected to the position, but would finish out the term.
The public is invited to hear this informative program. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by Monday, February 6th to assure adequate seating and food.
