Our monthly programs feature the most influential political figures in the state as well as speakers representing organizations that reflect our progressive values.
Our new season began in September, and so does a new membership year. Please renew your annual membership in W2D, or, if you are new to our organization, please join us!
As an all volunteer non-profit, we do our best to keep pricing low. For members, the $15 admission doesn't cover our costs, but your supporting membership subsidizes our operating expenses so that we can keep going.

PLANNED PARENTHOOD UNDER ATTACK: How Can We Join the Fight?
with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon's Executive Director, Mary Nolan.
The concerted efforts of Donald Trump and the Republican majority in both the House and the Senate to defund Planned Parenthood has put the health care of millions of American women under great threat. It is hard to overstate how important Planned Parenthood is in providing essential health care for women including contraceptive services, cancer screenings, STD testing and treatment, family planning education and much more.
Donald Trump understands the importance of Planned Parenthood's role in providing essential health care to women as he declared in the February 2016 presidential debate: “Millions and millions of women — cervical cancer, breast cancer — are helped by Planned Parenthood. I would defund it because I’m pro-life, but millions of women are helped by Planned Parenthood.” It goes without saying that it is hardly pro-life to leave so many women without recourse to health care.
Join us to hear what Planned Parenthood of Oregon is doing to stave off this attack. Ms. Nolan will also discuss state legislative priorities and you'll learn what you can do to help to protect and defend Planned Parenthood from this threat.
Mary Nolan brings decades of leadership in the reproductive rights movement to PPAO. In the late 1970s, she was one of the founders of NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon, later serving as the organization’s Board President. She was a leader in the fight to defeat every one of Oregon’s five ballot measures to restrict women’s health care, including co-chairing the steering committee for No on 8 & 10 in 1990. She is a past Board President of Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette and Planned Parenthood Affiliates of Oregon.
It was on her watch that PPCW launched and completed its first capital campaign, which built the Bend Health Center and expanded services in Beaverton, Gresham and Vancouver. During her six terms as a State Representative, Nolan's efforts secured a dramatic increase in funding for women’s health care and family planning services. In 2011, PPAO honored Nolan as the very first winner of the Marilyn Epstein Pro-Choice Champion Award.
The public is invited to hear this informative program. Light refreshments will be served. To guarantee seating and food, please RSVP by Monday, May 8.
